This beautiful and well named ‘Mountain Villa’ - Vouno Villa located high on the side of the
Drapanokefalas Mountain is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the best of
Crete. Eagles soar above your head, literally feet away, as you kick back at the pool. The villa is set in a rural location but is only a short drive to the shops, restaurants and
beach of Almerida. The views from this villa are simply stunning , across to the Akrotiri Peninsular, down into Souda Bay and out onto the Aegean Sea, as well as having the backdrop of the White Mountains.
Upstairs... there are two bedrooms, the master, with its stylish wet room, sumptuously furnished and a twin bedroom, both of which open out onto a huge veranda with panoramic views. The veranda runs the whole width of the house and is furnished with a comfortable sofa and chairs. There is also a separate bathroom up here with a full sized bath and over head shower.
Downstairs... there is another twin bedroom, also sumptuously furnished, which again opens out via French doors to a covered veranda, and looks out onto the Aegean. There is another separate wet room downstairs. The luxury kitchen fitted with stainless steel goods includes a huge fridge/freezer, oven/ hob, washing machine, toaster, coffee machine, ‘toastie’ maker and microwave, is open plan to the dinning area and the living area. There is plenty of room here for six to eight people at the black marble table and even more comfortably on the wrap around chocolate leather suite. The living area has, for your entertainment, TV/DVD/Satellite and CD stereo system. There is air conditioning throughout the house and an open fire for the colder months. Again, French doors open out from here to the front veranda which is gorgeous for breakfast in the morning, watching the boats sail into Souda. The water is always active as Nato ships, submarines, fishing boats and ferries gently make their way down the bay. There is always plenty to watch.
Outside... the pool is set further up above, and behind the house together with an enormous BBQ area. This has been planted out with native fruit trees and herbs and there is room for ten people here. The pool and BBQ terrace are accessed via steps made with local stone and the whole area is gated off, for safety, to keep small children out. There are no other houses above Vouno Villa so the pool is completely private, only the odd goat will see you skinny dip!
